GLORIA @ The Gloucester Stage Company

“All of the actors embodied their characters fully, but Dang’s performance as Kendra was particularly outstanding. She delivered impassioned speeches with vigor and held attention throughout her delivery. She was convincingly the rich, privileged Kendra with big dreams.” - Ipswich Local News

“Dang’s ever-snarky, callous Kendra can expertly slice and dice someone’s confidence within a few minutes.” - WBUR (Boston’s NPR news station)

“A 1st-rate ensemble shocks then makes you think as it satirizes a cutthroat workplace, ravenous media, who controls the story. DO NOT MISS!” - Joyce Kulkawik (Emmy-winning Arts & Entertainment Critic)

Columbia MFA Thesis: CHINESE OPERA AND A MODERN DRAMA

I played the lead, Kiki, in Columbia MFA Playwright Ruoxin Xu’s thesis play, directed by Miriam Mikiel Grill, and mentored by Diana Son. Kiki, a fiercely independent and feminist Chinese stage manager living in 2019 NYC, is hired to work on a brand new Beijing Opera piece about Madame Huarui, an ancient Chinese “Helen of Troy”. Kiki’s professional and personal life spiral out of control as her Visa situation becomes increasingly uncertain. The play explores patriarchy in both historical and modern times, as well as new immigrants living under the current political climate between the US and China.
